Role Description
Join our dynamic team at Salesforce and make a real impact with your software designs and code! This position requires technical skills, outstanding analytical and influencing skills, and extraordinary business insight. It is a multi-functional role that requires building alignment and communication with several engineering organisations. We work in a highly collaborative environment, and you will partner with a highly cross functional team comprised of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Machine learning engineers, UX experts, and product managers to build AI Apps. About The Role
The Engineering Manager demonstrates deep business, industry, and product knowledge to ensure the success of our customers by effectively managing a team of Engineers and Architects. We're looking for technically strong, energetic, highly collaborative, and passionate leaders to lead our software engineering teams.
Your Impact
- Drive execution and delivery of features by collaborating with multi-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers
- Make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product
- Proactively foresee and resolve issues before they happen
- Run daily stand-ups as Scrum Master for engineering teams
- Partner with Product Owners to align on objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, and risk
- Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources
- Empower the delivery team to self-coordinate
- Be a multiplier — passionate about team members success
- Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring
- Maintain high morale and motivate teams to go above and beyond
- Vocally advocate for technical excellence and help teams make sound decisions
- Participate in architecture discussions, planning, and multi-functional reviews
- Maintain culture by interviewing and hiring top talent
- Occasionally contribute to coding and feature verification to stay technically sharp
Minimum Requirements
- Related technical degree required
- 12+ years of Software Engineering experience with 3–5 years leading sizeable teams on fast-paced technical projects
- Experience leading large-scale distributed systems, microservices, and/or distributed architecture
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Comfortable working with minimal specifications in a flexible, proactive manner
- Experience with short release cycles, full software lifecycle, and public product releases
- Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers
- Solid grasp of engineering best practices: coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build, testing, and operations
- Agile/Scrum experience required

- Strong knowledge of Salesforce product and platform features
- Understanding of enterprise architecture principles
- Ability to articulate the importance of Governance to business and IT executives
- Ability to quickly grasp and explain both technological and business concepts
- Trusted advisor mindset with deep curiosity about customer needs
- FDE/Automation/QE knowledge
