Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for providing leadership and operational oversight for inpatient operations and patient service functions across the campus. This includes the management of frontline operational teams, patient service workflows, service recovery, resource deployment and service coordination to ensure safe, efficient and patient-centred operations.

You will support the development and implementation of digital-enabled workflows, workforce transformation initiatives and service improvement projects to strengthen service delivery, manpower optimisation and operational responsiveness. You will work closely with nursing, clinical, corporate and support service stakeholders to drive operational excellence, productivity improvement, service transformation and patient experience outcomes.

You will be responsible for the following:

Hospital Operations and Management

  • Provide oversight of inpatient operational support functions, including patient service operations, service coordination, operational command functions and other assigned operational services.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations across assigned inpatient service areas through active monitoring, issue resolution and escalation management.
  • Drive campus-wide coordination of operational workflows to support patient flow, frontline service standards, service recovery and feedback and escalation management.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve productivity, resource utilisation and service delivery.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on operational support matters including facilities, equipment and procurement.

Resource Management

  • Optimise manpower deployment through workforce planning, workload balancing, productivity monitoring and cross-functional resource coordination.
  • Develop capabilities of operational teams through structured training, competency development and role redesign and progressive upskilling.
  • Support implementation of workforce transformation strategies to prepare staff for expanded operational, coordination and service support roles.
  • Monitor operational manpower indicators and implement service delivery improvements.

Operational Transformation & Project Management

  • Lead workforce transformation, service redesign and digitalisation initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Drive workflow redesign, automation and productivity improvement projects using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop and implement centralised operational workflows, escalation pathways and service recovery processes.
  • Drive adoption of digital tools, automation and data analytics to support operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing and corporate stakeholders to improve patient service delivery and operational outcomes.

Leadership and Talent Management

  • Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to assigned operational teams to ensure consistent service standards and operational discipline.
  • Drive staff engagement, change management and capability development associated with service transformation initiatives.
  • Develop future operational leaders and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation and patient-centred service within the team.

Department Workplans and Performance Management

  • Lead departmental workplans, service improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure timely reporting and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures and risk registers.
  • Support budget planning and prudent utilisation of CAPEX and OPEX resources.
  • Leverage operational data and performance metrics to support decision-making and improvement initiatives.

Other Assignments

  • Support institutional emergency preparedness activities, including Civil Emergency, pandemic response and business continuity exercises.
  • Participate in corporate, campus and community outreach activities as required.
  • Contribute to organisational initiatives, cross-functional projects and committees when appointed.
  • Undertake any other duties or assignments as directed by the Reporting Officer or Division Head

Requirements:

  • Degree from a recognised institution, MBA/MHA will be advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, service operations or a large service-oriented organisation, with experience managing frontline teams and operational workflows. Experience in service transformation, workforce redesign, productivity improvement or cross-functional operational projects will be advantageous.
