PURPOSE
FWD's Digital platform team leverages the latest advances in tech and start-up ecosystem to deliver digital strategy pillars to build products, apps, clients, and managed services to drive business KPIs and customer experience. The team builds new apps, services and features to drive business value. We are looking for a Senior DevOps engineer who is passionate about changing the way people feel about insurance.
KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES
- Design and implement the DevOps architecture and automation solutions including but not limited infrastructure security, automated provisioning, CI/CD pipeline.
- Hands on day-to-day DevOps engineering work and responsible for production level 1 support (24x7 on rotation).
- Maintain AWS and Azure infrastructure to ensure efficient and state-of-the-art operations: self-healing, auto-scaling, disaster recovery, etc.
- Ensure and maintain full automation of routine development tasks, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes.
- Build the technology capabilities, influence the team with innovative and creative ideas, develop proofs-of-concept to validate various approaches and assumptions
- Enable monitoring and alerting micro-services and applications, from hardware and operating systems metrics to important business-level metrics.
- Provide BAU support and release management for the group digital projects.
- Influence decision making while building and operating the platform efficiently with best practices in DevOps engineering, ensuring effective project execution across-FWD functions in Group and Countries
- Driving cloud architectural design, implementation, enhancement and operating cloud workload efficiently with good understanding of application logic and workflow.
- Create, build, test, and implement cloud infrastructure with a focus on resilience, allowing applications to handle unexpected failures effectively.
- Plan and document technical specifications for devops engineering standard design.
- Work closely with product owner, application team to operate the system that fast with minimum disruption that maintain the best of class customer experience.
- Manage cross-regional project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Provide solutions designed for use on various platforms while prioritizing cost efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages is preferred.
- Startup experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of industry leading devops engineering practice is appreciated.
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- At least 5 years of experience as senior or principal DevOps engineer (or equivalent role) working on large-scale projects and architecture.
- Substantial hands-on expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure design (networking, load balancing, CDN) and CI/CD Pipeline (Jenkins/Azure DevOps).
- Excellent experience with AWS and/or Azure setup (minimally 2 large scale projects)
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools and stacks like DataDog, NewRelic, Dynatrace, ElasticCloud, and others.
- Fantastic knowledge of Linux systems, networking protocols, and UNIX shell.
- Experience with one of the major programming languages, preferably Nodejs and Python.
- Excellent listening, writing, and technical communication skills.
