Job Description

The Senior Manager/Associate Director (EIR) is responsible for the development and management of EIR polices, processes, employee & labour relations advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, HR Partners, managers, supervisors, unions and government agencies.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage EIR polices & processes.
  • Collaborate and partner legal and risk office in the management of end-to-end staff disciplinary cases including sanctions & terminations.
  • Provide advisories to HR partners, managers and supervisors in best employee and labour relations practices, and strategies for managing sensitive supervisor problems and employee grievances. management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.
  • Manage staff's external interests/commitments and resolve potential or actual conflicts.
  • Provide advisories to HR partners, staff, managers and supervisors on conflict of interest & staff's external interests/commitments.
  • Analyzes information and data necessary to policy implications of negotiations and disputes, which includes management and union proposals.
  • Drive union/arbitration meetings and negotiations.
  • Researches and explains employment legislations to HR partners, managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Create a data base of staff disciplinary cases for dashboard reporting, trend analysis & prediction.
  • The Associate Director is expected to deputize EIR where required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a position of responsibility.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Possess knowledge of employment legislations.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong in data management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
