Job Description

Cana Consulting is partnering with an established and fast-growing international business within the offshore, marine, infrastructure, and renewables sector is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its regional legal team. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will provide broad-based legal support across commercial operations, strategic projects, disputes, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of legal policies, governance frameworks, and internal legal processes across regional operations.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support on commercial and operational matters.
  • Advise on strategic transactions and corporate initiatives including joint ventures, restructurings, acquisitions, and expansion projects.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify legal and regulatory risks within offshore, marine, infrastructure, and energy-related operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including procurement, vendor, services, supply chain, and project-related contracts.
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, standard terms, and contract management frameworks.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on specialized transactions and contract reviews.
  • Ensure proper documentation and contract governance practices are maintained.
  • Assist in managing disputes, litigation matters, regulatory inquiries, and investigations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on litigation strategy, documentation, and case preparation.
  • Monitor ongoing disputes and provide regular updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory obligations across regional operations.
  • Support legal compliance initiatives relating to offshore, marine, infrastructure, environmental, and renewable energy sectors.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Prior experience gained within a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, cross-border transactions, and dispute management.
  • Exposure to offshore, marine, infrastructure, construction, EPC, energy, or international trade matters will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regional and cross-border legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Commercially minded with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Able to operate independently in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
