Job Description

Role Summary:

The Senior IT Department Head will lead Digital Technology (DT) operations at the GE Evergreen MRO facility. Serving as the DT Site Leader, this role provides strategic digital leadership to the site leadership team and the broader DT organization, covering all IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software applications required for site operations. The leader is accountable for the performance and availability of IT infrastructure and applications and will partner closely with business stakeholders to enable process transformation. This role also oversees site-related projects in coordination with the broader DT organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of employees focused across the digital operations space to include infrastructure, end user support, network, etc.
  • Design, develop, implement and support the use of technology with geographically distributed infrastructure systems.
  • Provide management of the tactical Digital Technology plans to ensure they meet current needs and are responsive to the future needs. Maintain the integrity of the systems with applying security best practices.
  • Manage global IT assets including software licenses and hardware full lifecycle management.
  • Develop and manage adherence to departmental Change Management and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Define, develop, maintain, and test Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational processes
  • Participate in budgeting process and manage IT Infrastructure related projects and investments
  • Identify and respond to professional growth needs for all team members and ensure they have the proper training to execute team deliverables
  • Foster a work culture at all levels that is positive, collaborative, respectful, innovative, dynamic, with high integrity, and capable of driving positive change over sustained periods of time.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant years of experience
  • Possess solid years of experience in designing, developing and implementing infrastructure systems, including hardware life cycle management.
  • Service solution driven, with experience in vertical integration
  • Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 technical operations
  • Experienced in design, performance, availability and scalability of the infrastructure
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles (e.g., Green belt certified)
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
  • Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English
