Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior HSE Engineer is responsible for overseeing and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs across projects and operations to ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international standards, and company policies. This role involves providing both administrative and operational site control, monitoring HSE requirements, and enforcing company and regulatory safety policies. The engineer will conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations while promoting a strong safety culture among site workers. Additionally, the role requires identifying and mitigating site hazards, ensuring compliance with IMS (Integrated Management System), and supporting HSE-related training and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Health & Safety Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, UAE regulations, Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and promote safe work practices across all project activities.
  • Incident Investigation & Reporting

Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records and monitor action closure.

  • Compliance & Auditing

Perform HSE audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO standards, UAE regulations, and client requirements.

  • Environmental Management

Monitor environmental impacts and ensure proper waste management and pollution prevention practices.

  • Contractor Management

Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.

  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare periodic HSE reports, including safety statistics, inspection findings, incident records, and performance indicators.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, audits, and training activities, and recommend improvement measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of HSE experience, with at least 8 years in the UAE.
  • Experience with GCC projects, preferably in healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, and/or institutional design sectors.
  • Certifications Required-NEBOSH / OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, Incident Investigation
  • Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) HSE / Engineering certification or equivalent, with demonstrated knowledge and awareness of ADM HSE regulations and standards.
  • IMS and auditing experience are added advantages
