We are seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Regulatory Lawyer to join a leading player in the financial services industry. This in-house role offers the chance to partner closely with business leaders, driving strategic initiatives and navigating complex legal landscapes that underpin market growth. You will work across a broad spectrum of complex matters-from evolving regulatory frameworks to legal risk management-while enjoying the stability and prestige of a well-established organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on securities, banking, and asset management regulatory obligations.
  • Support cross-border initiatives and regulatory change projects across business units.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and corporate agreements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their business impact, ensuring proactive compliance.
  • Engage with regulators and external counsel on complex legal and regulatory matters.
  • Lead and mentor junior lawyers, fostering team development and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years PQE in Hong Kong as a solicitor.
  • Deep expertise in financial services regulation, gained in-house or at an international law firm.
  • Strong academic background with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) and fluent in spoken Chinese.
  • Track record of supervising junior lawyers.
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong's securities and futures industry is advantageous.
