About the role
The Artment is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to lead our Finance & Accounts function and work closely with the CFO and founders as we scale the business.
We are looking specifically for someone with strong experience in D2C, e-commerce, retail or consumer businesses who understands the financial complexity of operating across multiple online channels.
This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership across controllership, MIS, working capital, compliance, marketplace reconciliations, budgeting and commercial finance, while managing the broader finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team, ensuring strong ownership and timely execution across the function
- Own monthly closing, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, MIS and management reporting
- Drive budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across business functions and channels
- Manage working capital across inventory, receivables, payables and cash-flow planning
- Own financial reconciliations across D2C website, marketplaces, quick-commerce and other sales channels
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of marketplace settlements, commissions, logistics charges, returns, deductions, TCS and other channel-level adjustments
- Build visibility into channel, category and SKU-level profitability, contribution margins and unit economics
- Partner with business teams to identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimisation
- Strengthen financial controls, SOPs and processes to support a rapidly scaling, high-transaction-volume business
- Oversee GST, TDS, taxation, statutory compliances and audits, working with external consultants and auditors where required
- Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, treasury and day-to-day cash management
- Support inventory accounting, landed-cost calculations and financial controls around procurement and imports
- Develop dashboards and actionable financial insights for the CFO and founders
- Support fundraising, investor reporting, due diligence and other strategic finance initiatives as required
What we're looking for
- CA preferred, with approximately 6–10+ years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in a D2C, e-commerce, retail, consumer internet or omnichannel business is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of e-commerce marketplace accounting and reconciliations
- Experience working with platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Shopify or similar channels would be highly relevant
- Strong command over accounting, controllership, MIS, taxation, audit and compliance
- Good understanding of inventory, working capital and cash-flow management
- Ability to analyse business performance beyond accounting and translate financial data into commercial insights
- Experience managing and developing a finance/accounts team
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP/accounting and BI systems is preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and rapidly scaling environment
- High ownership, attention to detail and ability to independently drive projects to closure
What makes this role interesting
This is not a traditional accounting role.
You will sit at the intersection of finance, operations and business strategy, helping build the financial infrastructure required to scale a multi-channel consumer business.
The role offers significant exposure to the CFO and founders, with the opportunity to become a key finance leader within the organisation.
