Senior Engineering Manager – Java

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Java to lead and manage high-performing engineering teams responsible for building scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Java technologies, solid people management experience, and a proven ability to deliver complex software projects in agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and production support.
- Drive delivery of multiple projects while ensuring quality, scalability, and adherence to timelines.
- Provide technical leadership in designing and developing solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, design reviews, and quality processes.
- Lead Agile delivery using Scrum/Kanban methodologies and manage distributed engineering teams.
- Oversee CI/CD implementation, DevOps practices, cloud-native deployments, and containerized applications.
- Drive architecture and implementation of Microservices, Event-Driven Systems, Kafka, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
- Monitor project risks, resolve technical challenges, and ensure high system performance, reliability, and security.
- Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in software development, including strong hands-on experience in Java technologies.
- 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, and Kafka.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of distributed systems, application scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments and managing geographically distributed teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to balance technical decision-making with project delivery and people management responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with event-driven architecture and modern cloud-native application development.
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as Angular or React.
- Certifications in Java, Cloud, Agile, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
