Introduction

A leading energy infrastructure organisation is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Singapore to support the maintenance, reliability, technical integrity, and project delivery of critical electrical systems across a large-scale operational facility.

Responsibilities

You will lead and supervise electrical maintenance activities, reliability improvement initiatives, preventive maintenance programmes, and minor CAPEX projects across high and low voltage electrical systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and associated power assets. The role includes investigating electrical failures, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, supporting major expansion and upgrade projects, and working closely with internal operations, project teams, external stakeholders, and Licensed Electrical Workers to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical operations. You will also support regulatory compliance matters and participate in emergency response activities when required.

Requirements

You bring a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, design, or engineering within oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments. You should have strong practical knowledge of high-voltage power systems, low-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, electrical system studies, load flow, fault level analysis, arc flash, and protection coordination. Familiarity with SS 638, EMA requirements, IEC, IEEE, and relevant electrical engineering codes will be advantageous. You are technically strong, safety-focused, and able to work effectively with operations, engineering, project, regulatory, and external stakeholder groups.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a recognised university

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance or design roles within energy, utilities, heavy industrial, or power generation environments

Solid technical experience in high-voltage electrical power systems
