Communications and Public Relations Office
Senior EditorThe appointee will be responsible for (a) supporting the University's Communications and Public Relations Office (CPRO) to drive content creation in alignment with the University's priorities (b) overseeing the co-ordination of content generation within CPRO to maximise synergy in storytelling and enhance the content reserve (c) writing, sub-editing and proofreading various articles and reports to ensure strong message delivery (d) liaising with internal and external stakeholders in effective content delivery and (e) performing other duties as assigned.Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree, preferably with a Master's Degree (ii) at least 12 years post-qualification editorial experience in media and/or publication (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) (iv) excellent communication skills to work with multi-stakeholders and (v) knowledge of the higher education and public sector in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Having knowledge of and/or experience in Journalism, Communication or Social Science disciplines is preferred. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
