Job Summary
Lead and coordinate structural works on construction sites, managing subcontractors, drawings, inspections, and material testing to ensure quality, compliance, and timely project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead site coordination for structural works to ensure smooth execution and compliance with project specifications
- Manage submission of shop drawings, material details, and Method of Statement (MOS) related to structural works
- Maintain and update drawing registry and ensure all parties have access to the latest drawings and BIM models
- Issue transmittal forms and communications for updated drawings and BIM models to CTD, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies and raise queries to consultants via Request for Information (RFI)
- Oversee BIM team to ensure timely updates of drawings and BIM models with current project information
- Prepare as-built drawings and BIM models and compile Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for project submission
- Plan structural works and develop micro schedules to support project timelines
- Manage subcontractors to ensure work quality and scope align with drawings, specifications, and design requirements
- Conduct pre-inspections with subcontractors before requesting Resident Engineer (RE) or Resident Technical Officer (RTO) inspections
- Liaise with RE and RTO to coordinate necessary inspections and ensure compliance
- Take responsibility for all structural inspection activities on site
- Coordinate structural works with other disciplines to ensure integration and avoid conflicts
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and testing laboratories to facilitate smooth operations
- Coordinate and monitor material testing to verify compliance with standards
- Monitor and control usage of rebar and concrete on site to optimize resources
- Ensure all work activities are conducted in a safe working environment following safety protocols
- Provide timely updates on structural progress to project management
- Manage structural matters related to CONQUAS assessments and submissions
- Upon completion of structural works, support Architectural, External Works, and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works as directed by the Project Manager
- Attend client, consultant, and subcontractor meetings as requested by the Project Manager and take meeting minutes
- Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by immediate supervisor or management
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction industry experience with a main contractor

- Ability to manage a group of supervisors effectively
