What You'll Do
Role
- Drive quality planning activities across all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring robust design and manufacturing processes from concept through production launch.
- Lead APQP deliverables (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Validation) and coordinate PPAP execution to ensure production readiness.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design for quality.
- Conduct design reviews (CAD models, specifications, engineering changes (ECNs)) to identify and mitigate product quality risks.
- Support early identification and mitigation of product and process risks across the development lifecycle.
- Develop Quality Control Plans, defining process controls and inspection methods.
- Lead product launch quality activities, ensuring production readiness and stability.
- Collect and analyze quality and process data using statistical tools to identify trends and drive improvement actions.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D).
- Facilitate cross-functional Lean and Six Sigma process improvement initiatives and workshops.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for key quality processes, providing cross-functional guidance.
- Maintain quality planning documentation, ensuring compliance with internal quality systems and customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and electromechanical systems.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment, including 1+ years in a senior or lead role.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with APQP tools (e.g., PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA).
- Hands-on involvement in new products and process validation.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA or ASET is considered an asset.
