Job Description

Job Summary

Assist in managing comprehensive financial operations and reporting for the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting strategic decision-making. Lead finance teams and optimize processes to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including monthly and quarterly variance analysis, cash flow projections, and annual budgets
  • Provide timely financial information and analysis to support organizational decision-making
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with group accounting policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Manage month-end and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls
  • Monitor and manage financial aspects of construction projects including job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and work-in-progress reporting
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets and cost control measures to maintain financial guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations including preparation and submission of GST and statutory filings
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team by providing training, guidance, and performance support
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in finance operations
  • Prepare and analyze management reports for the group and its entities
  • Manage daily banking operations to ensure smooth financial transactions
  • Liaise with bankers on financing, treasury, and risk management matters
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management as required
  • Collaborate with departments to gather and analyze data for project costs, revenue, and balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, vendor reconciliations, and payments
  • Provide financial and operational support to the finance team and subsidiaries
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Execute special projects and management requests as assigned

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • Experience handling full set of accounts
  • At least 3 years experience in construction or real estate industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with Accpac Accounting software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to work independently and organize tasks effectively
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective team player with initiative and resourcefulness
  • Good communication skills
