Job Summary
A Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within an organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare financial statements compliant with SFRS and ACRA accounting standards
- Perform complex account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger for accuracy
- Oversee fixed asset accounting and manage depreciation schedules to reflect asset values correctly
- Prepare statutory and compliance reports including GST and grant returns following regulatory requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure audit readiness and compliance
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements across financial operations
- Prepare management accounts, conduct variance analysis, and develop financial models to support decision-making
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations to management for business improvement
- Manage cashflow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity
- Mentor junior accountants to develop their skills and support cross-departmental collaboration
- Act as a key liaison with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to facilitate communication and compliance
- Utilize ERP systems and financial reporting tools, including QuickBooks Online, to enhance accounting processes
Required competencies and certifications
- Advanced accounting knowledge demonstrated through handling complex reconciliations
- Strong understanding of accounting standards (SFRS/ACRA)
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Experience with QuickBooks Online Accounting Software
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
