SENIOR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
(PUBLIC SECTOR PRACTICE)
In this role, the Senior Account Director will lead and oversee Account Management initiatives for the Singapore market, with a strong focus on Public Sector / Government accounts. As a senior leader within the agency, the Senior Account Director acts as the primary strategic partner and trusted advisor to clients, client partners, and internal agency leadership.
The Senior Account Director is responsible for shaping long-term client strategy, ensuring excellence in delivery, and driving sustainable business growth. This role requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, senior-level counsel, and the ability to influence across complex stakeholder environments. Working across all digital and integrated capabilities, the Senior Account Director ensures strong collaboration locally, regionally, and globally between the agency, clients, and partners.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading end-to-end, integrated marketing engagements and is accountable for the overall health, relevance, and quality of the business, including strategic output, creative product, financial performance, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
• Act as the primary, senior strategic client contact across assigned accounts, building long-term, trusted relationships and deep understanding of client business, objectives, and customer experience needs.
• Own overall client satisfaction, retention, and growth across the assigned portfolio of business.
• Provide senior-level strategic leadership across strategy, creative, production, and delivery, ensuring work aligns with client objectives and agency standards of excellence.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and capability leads to drive integrated, cross-disciplinary solutions and unlock new business opportunities within existing accounts.
• Lead commercial stewardship of accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, estimates, and financial governance, ensuring profitability and operational rigor.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex client or business challenges, demonstrating sound judgment, decisiveness, and problem-solving ability.
• Keep abreast of client, industry, policy, and market developments, translating insights into strategic recommendations for clients and the agency.
• Champion the agency's value proposition, clearly articulating how McCann's services support clients short- and long-term business strategies.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 10–12 years experience in a creative / digital / integrated marketing communications agency environment, with demonstrated senior client leadership.
• Proven experience leading large, complex accounts, ideally within the Singapore market and Public Sector / Government sector.
• Strong strategic acumen across integrated marketing communications, including creative strategy, communications planning, digital, social, and platform ecosystems.
• Track record of managing and growing client relationships, including commercial ownership and contribution to agency revenue and profitability.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and complex, through-the-line campaigns with a high degree of autonomy.
• Deep understanding of the Singapore media and digital landscape; experience with website development and platform maintenance is a plus.
• Academic qualification in mass communications, marketing, advertising, or a related field is an advantage.
• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills, with confidence engaging senior client stakeholders.
• Strong financial, project, and time management skills; comfortable operating within rigorous agency and client governance processes.
• Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
• A confident, empathetic leader who is both commercially minded and team-oriented.
