Job Brief
We're looking for a Security Engineer to help strengthen secure software development practices across the company. This person will promote security best practices in coding, periodically review systems and processes to identify gaps, and evaluate security tools and products that can improve the firm's overall security posture. The role also requires experience supporting compliance efforts, especially ISO 27001 and SOC 2 readiness and audits.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote and embed secure coding best practices across engineering teams.
- Review applications, infrastructure, and development processes regularly to identify security gaps and risks.
- Partner with developers and technical stakeholders to recommend and implement practical security improvements.
- Evaluate, recommend, and help implement security tools/products that support the company's needs.
- Support vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and basic security monitoring initiatives.
- Assist with development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and technical controls.
- Contribute to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance efforts, including control implementation, evidence gathering, and audit support.
- Help build security awareness and encourage a security-first mindset across the organization.
Requirements
- Experience in a Security Engineer, Application Security, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices and common application security risks.
- Ability to perform periodic security reviews and identify control gaps in systems and workflows.
- Experience evaluating and selecting security products/tools for business and technical needs.
- Hands-on experience supporting or leading ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification/readiness processes.
- Good collaboration and communication skills, especially when working with engineering teams.
- Practical, risk-based mindset with the ability to balance security and business needs.
