SAP EWM Architect

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end S/4HANA MM and EWM architectures mapped to Chinese localized business processes.
• Integrate EWM with local warehouse automation systems (WCS, AGVs, and RFID) prevalent in hubs.
• Architect inventory management workflows compliant with unique material traceability laws.
• Define data flows between SAP MM/EWM and local manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Configure import/export purchasing processes aligned with Customs regulations and CIQ mandates.
• Implement localization requirements for domestic purchasing, subcontracting, and VAT invoice matching.
• Design localized logistics documentation (e.g., waybills, delivery notes, and customs declarations).
• Deploy solutions on compliant local cloud infrastructure such as Alibaba Cloud or AWS .
• Lead SAP Activate blueprinting phases for warehouse and procurement operations across sites.
• Configure complex EWM features including Wave Management, Slotting, Kitting, and Yard Management.
• Manage localization gaps by designing minimal, high-efficiency custom ABAP objects where standard SAP falls short.
• Drive physical inventory and cutover planning tailored to local operational schedules.
• Facilitate technical design workshops with local warehouse managers and business leaders.
• Translate complex local operational needs into English technical blueprints for global HQ approval.
• Govern local implementation partners and third-party logistics (3PL) IT providers

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of SAP MM and EWM implementation experience.
• At least 1 full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementation as a Lead Architect within mainland China.
• Proven track record of rolling out global logistics templates into manufacturing or distribution sites.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM, and SAP EWM architecture and implementation.
• Experience with localization requirements, customs regulations, CIQ mandates, and VAT invoice matching.
• Experience integrating SAP EWM with WCS, AGVs, RFID, and MES.
• Experience with SAP Activate blueprinting and complex EWM features including Wave Management, Slotting, Kitting, and Yard Management.
• language proficiency is required, as the role involves extensive communication and coordination with counterparts and stakeholders, clients, or business teams.
