Experienced Senior SAN Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of SAN environments using DELL, PURE, Cisco, Brocade, and HPE technologies
Ensures performance, integrity, and security of SAN infrastructure
Provides advanced technical support and guidance to IT teams
Key Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and manage SAN solutions using DELL, PURE, Cisco, Brocade, and HPE technologies
Design scalable, high-availability SAN environments for business applications and disaster recovery
Perform SAN maintenance, updates, and patches
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime and data loss
Manage SAN capacity planning and performance tuning
Provide advanced technical support, including root cause analysis and resolution
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAN solutions with infrastructure
Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies
Lead SAN-related projects and coordinate with vendors and partners
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 7 years of experience in SAN administration and engineering
Proven expertise in DELL, PURE, Cisco, Brocade, and HPE technologies
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of SAN fabric, zoning, LUN masking, and storage virtualization
Experience with Dell VMAX-3, PowerMax (PMAX), Pure Storage, and HPE storage systems
Expertise in replication technologies: TimeFinder Snap/Clone, SRDF/S, SRDF/A, SRDF/AR
Knowledge of network protocols: FC, iSCSI, and FCoE
Experience with tools: SYMCLI, Unisphere, Cisco DCNM, Brocade BNA, SAN NAV, FOS, ACS-Gateway
Hands-on experience with Cisco and Brocade switches, including Director-class switches
Knowledge of VSANs, ISL, NPIV, LSAN, Logical Fabrics, and Context Switching
Experience in storage migration and tools such as Cirrus or equivalent
Understanding of data center architecture and translating business requirements into technical solutions
Exposure to automation tools such as Python (preferred)
