Job Summary:
The SMS Focal Engineer will be responsible for key functional, business, and company objectives and report to the onsite Safety Manager. In this role, you will solve complex issues affecting the business, executing the long-term business plan, and lead the Safety Management System in the organization.
You will work with the larger worldwide SMS central team and SMS teams across GE Aerospace network.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the ICAO Safety Management System activities and driving the Safety culture at the shop and field.
Create a culture where Quality and Safety is at the forefront of everyone's mind.
Develop and conduct Safety Management Systems training for all staff.
Serve as the secondary interface with regulatory agencies.
Ensure that all Regulatory SMS and Company requirements are met.
All Regulatory, Customer and Supplier audit requirements are satisfied.
Perform internal audits locally and at remote locations as required.
Develop and conduct Root Cause Analysis and pFMEA when required.
Own the proactive Quality and SMS framework for the site.
Lead RCCA Execution for the shop and facilitating best practice sharing with other shops in the wider GE Aerospace Quality Organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Possess solid years of experience working in Aerospace, EASA Part 145/FAR 145 organization
Relevant experience working with aviation regulatory agencies
Proficient in English
Preferred Skillsets:
Strong working knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 requirements
Qualified Auditor with Auditing Experience
Knowledge of EASA Part 145, FAA FAR 145 procedures or equivalent.
