Research Nurse (at the rank of Nurse) in the Clinical Trials Centre(Ref.: 534917)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

HKU-CTC's Phase 1 Clinical Trials Unit (Phase 1 Unit) is a professional clinical trials facility located at the Queen Mary Hospital and dedicated to conducting phase 1 and early phase clinical trials. We are seeking a high calibre talent who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising clinical research to join our Phase 1 Unit as a Research Nurse.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible to clinical trial coordination and operations
  • Conduct study planning and management
  • Recruit and conduct screening of trial volunteers
  • Execute study procedures, data collection and documents management, medical emergency management, facilities management and quality management
  • Communicate with research teams and internal/external collaborators and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Require to work outside normal business days or hours occasionally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong
  • A minimum of 1 year's nursing experience is preferred
  • Holder of a Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificate and a venipuncture certificate is an advantage
  • Experience in clinical trial operations and basic knowledge in Good Clinical Practiceare added advantages
  • Experience in utilization of electronic devices (e.g., tablets, computers) for efficient and accurate clinical data capture are added advantages
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good coordination and problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and compliance
  • Detail-minded, multitasking, and self-motivated and
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Both Cantonese & Mandarin).

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Appointment on 2-year fixed term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
