About the Digital Education Council (DEC)

Digital Education Council (DEC) is a global community of practice for higher education leaders and innovators. DEC is committed to advancing sustainable innovation and AI adoption across education and workforce development. Its work focuses on strengthening institutional capability, advancing workforce readiness and shaping the future of higher education.

The Job

The Digital Education Council is building a new line of intelligence products focused on how AI is changing work, the skills people need, and how higher education should respond.

This role will support the building of DEC's workforce and skills intelligence database and support the development of tools that assess institutional AI readiness, measure curriculum alignment with workforce demand, and evaluate students AI capabilities.

This is a hands-on research and analytical role for someone genuinely interested in the future of work, workforce development, skills and AI's impact on jobs, and higher education.

You will work closely with the research team, CEO, and President of the Digital Education Council.

Responsibilities

  • Research how AI is changing occupations, tasks and skill requirements across professions and sectors
  • Support the development of institutional AI readiness assessment instrument
  • Build and maintain structured workforce and skills datasets
  • Analyse labour-market data, skills frameworks, job postings and industry research
  • Analyse curricula against changing workforce requirements
  • Support the development of AI literacy and student readiness assessments
  • Translate complex research and data into clear analytical outputs and recommendations

Who We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in workforce and skills fields 
  • Strong qualitative research and analytical skills
  • Practical skills in using AI tools to improve productivity
  • The ability to structure complex or messy information into clear frameworks or datasets
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A genuine interest in AI, skills, the future of work, and higher education
