Research Associate

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking a Research Associate to support a research project focused on integrating machine learning and symbolic reasoning.

Applicants should have (i) a good Master%27s degree (ii) at least four years post-qualification relevant experience (iii) proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (iv) strong organisational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (v) a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and high self-motivation and (vi) the ability to work independently and attentively. Experience in research administration will be advantageous.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing executive support to the Project Director across a wide range of tasks, including project administration and financial management (b) handling administrative matters, such as preparing project progress reports, proposals, managing funding, and coordinating publicity efforts (c) ensuring smooth coordination and progress on claims, report submissions, and related follow-ups (d) communicating effectively with various university units, collaborating parties, and stakeholders and (e) performing additional duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
