The School of Journalism and Communication is seeking self-motivated candidates to support the School's research cluster on sustainable communication industries for a healthier information environment.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Communication or a related discipline (ii) academic training in qualitative and/or quantitative research (iii) proficiency in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) (iv) excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and (v) self-motivation and a high sense of responsibility.
The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) conducting interviews, focus groups, surveys, and experiments and dealing with transcription and coding (b) liaising with various parties (e.g., interviewees, collaborators, etc.) (c) conducting basic qualitative and quantitative data analysis (d) organising synergy events and (e) performing other related tasks as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to mutual agreement, budget availability, and satisfactory performance.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
