Applicants should have (i) a Master%27s degree or above (for Research Assistant) OR a Bachelor's degree (for Junior Research Assistant) in Statistics, Public Health, Social Science, or related disciplines, (ii) competency in computer applications such as SPSS, STATA, SAS, R, and/or NVIVO (iii) good organisational and communication skills (iv) a good command of both English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese) (v) strong initiative and team spirit at work and (vi) the ability to conduct statistical analysis (for quantitative data), or conduct thematic analysis (for qualitative study). Candidates who have experience in evidence-based medicine, guideline development or a background in traditional Chinese medicine is preferred.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting literature searches and screening, data extraction, and quality assessments (b) conducting research projects using qualitative and quantitative methodologies (c) managing and analysing data (d) preparing project report and (e) performing other research and administrative duties as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to six months commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
