Job Description

The Hong Kong Genome Project is a new initiative established by the Hong Kong Government with the aim of enhancing the clinical application of genomic medicine to benefit patients and their families, promoting research in genomic medicine and related fields to facilitate future medical development in Hong Kong. The Faculty of Medicine of CUHK is one of the partnering centres of the Project.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree in Genetic Sciences, Health Sciences, Biomedical Science, Social Sciences, Public Health, Medical Statistics, or medical science-related disciplines (ii) at least two years of relevant working experience (iii) a good team player with good communication skills, detail-minded work attitude, and the ability to work independently (iv) self-motivated attitude with strong sense of responsibility and problem-solving skills (v) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (literacy in reading and writing Chinese is essential and strong written English is an advantage) (vi) experience in patient care, clinical research, and the use of digital health technologies in healthcare settings would be an advantage. Fresh graduates with basic knowledge and experience in research studies will also be welcome to apply.

The appointee(s) will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital for the CUHK/PWH Partnering Centre of the Hong Kong Genome Project and will be responsible for (a) undertaking basic research and related clerical/administrative duties (b) handling correspondence and enquiries related to the Project (c) assisting in preparing research-related protocols and literature search (d) providing assistance to the Genetic Counsellors (e) conducting handson recruitment of participants in clinic settings and interviewing participants to collect detailed family history information and (f) performing other adhoc duties as assigned.
