Job Description

The Diversity and Well-being Lab, under the supervision of Professor Winnie Mak at the Department of Psychology, is seeking Research Assistant / Junior Research Assistant for the Jockey Club TourHeart Project, a digital mental health initiative, as well as other research projects.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor%27s degree in Psychology, Public Health, or a related discipline, preferably with an MPhil or a Master's degree (ii) meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills (iii) demonstrated experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including program evaluation and research project management (iv) strong language skills in both written and spoken English and Cantonese (v) proficiency in statistical analysis and software such as R, MPLUS, SPSS, and NVivo (vi) a research-oriented mindset with a strong curiosity for scholarly inquiry (vii) a tech-savvy mindset and interest in projects related to artificial intelligence (viii) the ability to communicate effectively with generative AI and (ix) eagerness and experience in publication and grant writing.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting research evaluation and data collection, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods (b) supporting facilitator in conducting qualitative interviews, focus groups, and other person-centered approaches to glean lived experience of diverse individuals, from children to young adults, and other stakeholders (c) collaborating with the Research Team Lead and Principal Investigator to contribute to the development of new research ideas (d) performing data analysis and prepare presentations, reports, and manuscripts for internal and external dissemination (e) conducting periodic literature reviews to ensure the team stay current on the latest developments in digital mental health (f) collaborating with internal teams to synergize and consolidate data, and to develop effective systems for research support (g) coordinating logistics and developing promotional materials for multiple research projects and (h) performing other research-related duties as assigned.
