These solar cells operate reliably under vacuum, extreme temperature variations, and radiation, making them suitable for missions in LEO, MEO, and GEO orbits. Role Description
The Research and Development Engineer will work on-site in Taoyuan (Zhongli District) in a full-time capacity, supporting the design, planning, and optimization of space-grade solar cell assembly and module processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include discussing technical specifications and requirements directly with domestic and international customers, planning manufacturing processes, and defining cost estimates, Flow/Control Plans, SOPs, and acceptance/inspection standards. The role requires strong independent problem-solving ability and close coordination with cross-functional teams to turn customer requirements into manufacturable solutions. Occasional business travel (up to 1 month per year) is required.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including concept exploration and feasibility studies.
- Practical experience with testing and validation of components or systems, preferably in harsh or specialized environments.
- Background in research and product development, with the ability to move ideas from investigation to prototype and production.
- Background related to space satellites or UAVs is a plus
- Familiarity with semiconductor, MOCVD, or chip process technology is welcomed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials • Science, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with photovoltaic technology, semiconductor devices, or satellite power systems is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with engineering and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SPICE, or relevant CAE software).
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly in English.
