The Facility and Equipment Reliability Engineer provide MIQA and reliability engineering leadership and support for the site. This role includes implementing and sustaining the MIQA program on-site. This position focuses on enhancing equipment reliability through analysis rather than first-response, day-to-day troubleshooting of failed equipment. This individual will function as a technical resource that will drive process safety and reliability following RAGAGEP's. This individual is expected to have a sound knowledge and the ability to apply engineering principles and tools to identify and prioritize bad actors.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and implement overall site reliability program and improve equipment quality control implementation.
  • Utilize reliability engineering tools to maximize equipment reliability, such as SAP, Meridium, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), spare parts optimizations, TEEP&OEE, PM Plan optimizations, reliability modeling, equipment history analysis, failure predictions, and other reliability tools or techniques as needed to drive reliability solutions.
  • Prioritize and drive reliability and maintenance improvement efforts based on the above tools, cost, business objectives, etc.
  • Provide reliability leadership to technicians and planners for preventive-predictive maintenance programs (lubrication, vibration, thermography, shock-pulse, motor current analysis, etc.)
  • Provide technical guidance/coaching for routine maintenance activities.
  • Assist in shutdown planning and coordination.
  • Implement Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) best practices. Track, document, and communicate mechanical integrity work being performed on PSM Critical Equipment.
  • Analyze OEE data, including auditing data accuracy, to drive reliability improvements. Support Operations OEE. Champion to coordinate the improvement of the OEE reporting systems.
  • Analyze equipment history, including auditing data accuracy, and follow up with Technicians.
  • Provide support for root cause failure analysis (RCFA, 5-Whys) for critical equipment failures, including physical failure analysis.
  • Provide appropriate metrics and KPIs to the area and site as needed, such as: Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), maintenance costs, etc.
  • Perform failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and PPM performed by operators and mechanics. Enter the equipment checks and PPM plans into the appropriate system, such as SAP, Meridium, etc. Perform PPM effectiveness assessment at appropriate timing. Assess the quality of the performed PPM tasks. Leverage standard PPM plans for similar equipment across the region.
  • Determine critical spare parts and appropriate stocking levels.
  • Follow up on inspection findings to improve equipment reliability before equipment failure.
  • Be a potential PSM/operational excellence element leader at site.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
  • A minimum of >3 years of experience in manufacturing plant (or related industry) with a focus on reliability.
  • Understands the Maintenance Work Management Process (WMP) and its impact upon MIQA.
  • Facilities engineering processes, principles, and maintenance & reliability functional excellence capability.
  • Good logic skill. Experience and knowledge in problem solving on equipment issue is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
  • Good attitude to learn new skills and CI at ops daily work.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment
  • Good English communication capability to effectively present and join global meetings.
