R&D & Robotics Manager
Responsible for driving innovation, automation, and digital transformation initiatives across the Company's construction operations. Identifying, evaluating, developing, and implementing construction technologies, robotics, AI solutions, and productivity-enhancing systems to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Lead research and development projects, collaborate with project teams, technology partners, government agencies, and academic institutions, and oversee the deployment of robotics and advanced technologies on construction sites.
Research & Development (R&D)
- Develop and execute the Company's innovation and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct research on emerging construction technologies, robotics, AI, IoT, BIM, DfMA, and automation solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency through innovation.
- Lead feasibility studies, proof-of-concept (POC), pilot testing, and implementation of new technologies.
- Evaluate technology investments and prepare business cases with ROI analysis.
Robotics & Automation Management
- Lead the deployment and management of construction robotics and automated equipment.
- Evaluate, select, and implement robotic solutions for site operations such as: Rebar tying robots, Layout marking robots, Inspection drones, Autonomous surveying equipment, Concrete finishing robots, Material handling and logistics automation.
- Monitor robotics performance and optimize operational effectiveness.
- Develop SOPs and maintenance plans for robotic systems.
Project Management
- Manage innovation projects from conceptualization through implementation.
- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, vendors, technology providers, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and performance outcomes.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
Government Grants & Industry Collaboration
- Identify and secure funding opportunities from BCA, Enterprise Singapore, and other government agencies.
- Prepare grant applications, project proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Manage grant compliance, reporting requirements, and project audits.
- Establish partnerships with research institutes, universities, and technology providers.
Training & Change Management
- Conduct training and awareness programs on new technologies and robotics systems.
- Support operational teams during technology implementation and transition.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all robotics and automation systems comply with regulatory, safety, and operational requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments for technology implementation and site deployment.
- Work closely with WSH teams to ensure safe operation of automated equipment.
