Role Summary
Drive lean-based improvement of Quality processes through standard work, problem solving, visual management, and digital tools to improve SQDC and sustain results.
Responsibilities
- Drive daily improvement in Quality processes using lean fundamental, aligned to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Establish and implement standard work for key Quality activities (eg. audits, quality investigations, calibration, router management, metallurgy lab etc.) to reduce variation.
- Lead problem-solving cadence using structured methods (define, contain, root cause, correct, prevent) and ensure countermeasures are verified
- Deploy visual management for Quality workflows (queues, aging, WIP, takt/capacity signals) to make abnormalities visible and actionable
- Map and improve value streams across Quality information flow (data entry, approvals, dispositions, records) to remove waste and shorten cycle time
- Digitize and automate workflows using workflow tools to reduce handoffs and waiting
- Apply AI responsibly to streamline administrative quality work (document summarization, classification, search, draft responses) while maintaining human decision authority
- Develop lightweight programs/tools (scripts, macros, automated reports, data connectors) that remove manual rework and reduce data errors
- Create self-serve dashboards and leading indicators to monitor FPY, escapes, NCR aging, audit findings, and corrective action effectiveness
- Implement error-proofing (poka-yoke) for common Quality process failures (wrong forms, missing fields, incorrect part/serial linkage, incomplete evidence)
- Improve data quality at the source by simplifying forms, standardizing definitions, and adding validation rules to prevent downstream corrections
- Run kaizen events and rapid experiments to test countermeasures quickly, capture learning, and standardize what works
- Build change management and training (job aids, short modules, certification where needed) to ensure adoption and sustainment of new processes
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Digital/IT to align requirements, compliance needs, and integration constraints
- Sustain gains through daily management: audit adherence to standard work, monitor process capability, escalate abnormalities, and close the loop on actions.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
- Relevant experience in Quality, manufacturing, operations, or process improvement
- Strong capability in data analysis, reporting, dashboards, and identifying improvement opportunities
- Experience applying lean tools and improving or automating workflows to reduce waste and variation
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and change management skills in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
