Job Description

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a quality engineer you will mainly be manager of major CAPAs (Corrective Actions Preventive Actions) for critical cases. Define the problem, establishment of cross function team and coordination of the teamwork. Responsible for definition of containments and corrective actions. Root cause analysis. Implementation of corrective actions and preventive actions. Lessons learned. You will be a technical support to the production and quality team and advising management in decision making and carry out decisions.

As engineer you will also be identifying and driving quality improvement initiatives that support cost out activities and customer satisfaction. For example, driving big programs with strategic impact for the company, new systems or quality standards driven by global OPS QM.

There will also be activities related to NPI (New Product Introduction) and P-FMEA (APQP4Wind). Ensure QM related deliverables on new product introduction projects are kept. Ensure correct risk management. Governance of non-conformities, PFMEAs, control plans, MSA, SPCs.

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • Business driven:
  • Manage and coordinate NC process to have CAPA throughout the plant
  • Identification of critical business issues and initiate improvements in relation to SGRE quality processes
  • Prioritization of improvement projects/actions.
  • Facilitation and coordination, (through quality reporting), of quality related targets for management.
  • Communication to global central team to seek for Technical & Resource support.
  • Handling supplier Claims.
  • Focused, regular and direct quality reporting:

Quality performance reporting to management


  • Initiate improvement activities based on quality Performance Results.
  • Communication of quality topics to all employees.

Quality excellence in all processes


  • Support other organizations in the plant in monitoring and management of customer specific requirements
  • Support the plant organization in the plant in monitoring and management of SGRE processes and standards e.g. logistics and production.
  • Support and drive improvement on plant processes
  • Authority:

Intervene and escalate cases of non-compliance of regulations, requirements and

quality relevant procedures including use of temporary expertise.

  • Stop production, deliveries and services if deemed necessary, (this includes the release of stopped/blocked products/services).

Be aware that a great part of your working day as a Quality Engineer takes place on the shop floor, aligning and communicating with a variety of other job functions.


What You Bring

You have a minimum of 5 years working experience with Quality Management and thorough understanding of quality topics, e.g. NCR/NCC/QI, quality methods and APQP/CAPA. This experience is preferable gained in Heavy Industries, Energy industry - or other industries (e.g. Automotive).

You have worked as engineer in a production environment where there is a need of being able to talk to all levels of employees, from management to the mechanical production workers on the shop floor. High English communication skills is needed.

You have an engineering degree or experience within the area of data analysis, calculation and technical investigation (drawing and specification).

Preferable you have worked with APQP4Wind or similar and you have a six-sigma degree.

Education and background:


  • Experience of manufacturing production environment with quality management experience
  • Ability and proven experience in quality improvement and auditing programmes
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF16949 (prefer)
  • Working knowledge of statistics for industrial applications

Interfaces for Quality Engineer (internal / external):


  • Internal:
  • Regular direct reporting to Organisational QM head.
  • Support key function owners, (such as line functions and central functions, processes/project owner, etc).
  • External:
  • Customer Quality contact for audits, reporting, improvements
  • Assist external organisations in identification of issues affecting SGRE production/processes/customers, (Supplier workshops, audits, assessments, legal authorities, 3rd party approvals, requirements, etc.)

In general there are 3 types of quality engineers –all roles are needed


  • Process focused (audit, procedure and compliance focus)
  • Operational quality improvement focused (PM skills)
  • Data focus (Data analysis and improvement driven)
