Calderys has a fantastic opportunity to join our Quality Team as a Quality Engineer.

Summary

A Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading and advancing the quality control processes for our refractory products. This position shapes and implements methods and procedures, for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection ensuring continuous improvement, and driving the company's commitment to surpass industry standards. The Quality Engineer is pivotal in elevating our products to new heights of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust methods and procedures for process control, aiming for continuous improvement in product quality.
  • Design and install advanced testing equipment to conduct thorough product testing and analysis, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality levels and minimizing defects and failure rates.
  • Conduct in-depth inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Lead complex root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for identified quality issues, driving enhancements in overall product quality.
  • Direct and conduct thorough audits of production processes, ensuring adherence to quality specifications and identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Generate and maintain accurate documentation, including quality reports, inspection records, and non-conformance reports.
  • Investigate and resolve intricate customer complaints, contributing to heightened customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Play a central role in designing and implementing comprehensive training programs related to advanced quality standards and procedures.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, regulations, and advancements, proactively recommending and implementing improvements to the quality management system.

Requirements

  • Career level position; seven plus (7+) years of experience in quality engineering roles.
  • Expertise in quality control principles and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead the development and installation of sophisticated testing equipment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for in-depth assessment of reports and defective products, identifying trends for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in resolving complex customer complaints.
  • Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements.
