The Director of Quality is responsible for leading manufacturing quality strategy and execution to ensure product excellence, manufacturing reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role drives quality performance across manufacturing operations by establishing robust quality systems, improving process capability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, and cross-functional teams, this role leads quality initiatives that enhance product reliability, manufacturing performance, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing quality leadership experience, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to influence teams across a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute manufacturing quality strategies aligned with operational goals, business objectives, and customer expectations.
- Lead and develop quality engineering teams to drive excellence across manufacturing operations, product reliability, and quality performance.
- Foster a culture of quality excellence through data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality challenges and improve product performance.
- Integrate quality leadership into daily manufacturing processes, operational decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve site quality procedures while ensuring alignment with the corporate Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
- Drive manufacturing quality improvement initiatives to enhance process capability, product reliability, manufacturing yield, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee quality management activities including audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), change control, risk management, and quality reviews.
- Lead quality improvement projects using structured problem-solving methodologies and operational excellence tools.
- Serve as the primary manufacturing quality interface for customers and support customer audits, quality escalations, and improvement initiatives.
- Utilize quality data, analytics, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and enable effective decision-making.
- Build and mentor a high-performing quality organization with a strong focus on accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including significant experience in manufacturing quality management.
- Proven experience leading quality teams in complex manufacturing operations and high-volume production environments.
- Extensive hands-on manufacturing experience with strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process control, and factory operations.
- Demonstrated success in driving quality improvement initiatives, defect reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.
- Strong experience working with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, and customers.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO9000, Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO standards, audit processes, risk management, and corrective action systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and other structured problem-solving tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive business decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Fluent English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with international customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in various product like ICT, infrastructure, electronics, telecommunications, industrial, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing industries are preferred.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing ramp-up, and production transfer.
- Experience managing customer audits and complex quality escalations.
- Experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment/cross-border working experience.
