The Quality Control Engineer will periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organization's production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain process work instructions according to specific standards.
- Create and update control plans and inspection routines.
- Improve and sustain manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Apply root cause analysis techniques (8D, 5 Whys, 7-step corrective action).
- Implement gauging and measurement techniques.
- Prepare product information documents detailing form, fit, and function for quality decision-making.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to address potential issues promptly.
- Resolve supplier manufacturing problems.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality standards for finished products.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support and adhere to all quality policies and the Quality Management System.
- Work with R&D and other departments to establish quality standards.
- Develop quality checkpoints, testing, and evaluation processes.
- Review test results and approve recommended changes.
- Audit quality control documentation (checklists, logs, reports) for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Conduct random inspections and quality checks at supplier factories.
- Report periodically on quality control status and operations.
- Perform other Quality related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related industrial/business field.
- Understanding of EU and US product safety regulations.
- Experience with supplier compliance programs and knowledge of quality assurance and control certifications
- Experience with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- ASQ or Six Sigma certification (or equivalent) is an asset.
- Strong command of basic quality tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Experience in sporting goods and/or manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Detail-oriented, process-oriented mindset, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
- Ability to prioritize, act proactively, work collaboratively, and handle challenges.
- Ability to evaluate options and develop solutions through strong decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English; Additional Asian language (e.g. Vietnamese, Tagalog, Thai, Bahasa) a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (approximately 50%).
