Job Description

Job Purpose: The QA/QC & Sustainability Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of product and service delivery. Additionally, this role is pivotal in driving the company's sustainability initiatives, integrating environmental and social governance practices into the business operations.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

  • Develop and implement QA/QC policies, procedures, and standards to ensure product and process quality.

  • Oversee the QA/QC team and coordinate quality audits, inspections, and testing activities.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001.

  • Investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Analyse quality performance data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Sustainability Management

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and programs to reduce the company's environmental impact that align with the organisation's goals and values.

  • Collect, analyse, and report on environmental data to track performance against sustainability targets.

  • Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, including energy consumption, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.

  • Promote sustainability awareness and engagement among employees, customers, and other stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and foster partnerships.

  • Prepare and present detailed sustainability reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, such as ISO 14001 in compliance with the environmental regulations and standards in local, national and internal levels.

  • Work with the purchasing team to ensure sustainability is integrated into the supply chain processes.

  • Develop and conduct training programs to raise awareness and educate employees about sustainability practices as well as to lead initiatives to improve the company's sustainability performance, including corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA/QC and Sustainability team.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in quality and sustainability.

  • Provide training and support to employees on quality and sustainability-related topics.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure all QA/QC and sustainability activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to quality and sustainability activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to promote quality and sustainability practices.

  • Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and sustainability initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvements in QA/QC and sustainability practices.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quality and sustainability.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant diploma in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Good knowledge of QEHS system.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001, 14001 and 45001.

  • Able to use quality tools such as 5M, 8D methodology, Six Sigma, FMEA will be an advantage.

  • Competent to perform and implement Risk Assessment, Risk Management for Safety and Quality and Business Management.

  • Well versed with knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel & PowerPoint.
