The Publications & Content Manager, Education (Maternity Cover) will be part of SKM's Education Team and reports to the Deputy Director (Education).
The role oversees the end-to-end development and delivery of Kindsville's publications and animation content, including Kindsville Times, Kindsville Times Junior and Kindsville animation episodes. The successful candidate will work with internal teams and external partners to develop engaging, age-appropriate content and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong project management, stakeholder coordination and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. The successful candidate is expected to take ownership of their responsibilities and support the wider Education Team where required.
1. Overseeing the Production of Kindsville Times & A-OK!
- Manage the entire production process, from content creation to printing and distribution.
- Work with the Ministry to ensure content aligns with their curriculum.
- Ensure all materials are age-appropriate and engaging for preschool and primary school students.
- Track and meet production timelines to ensure timely delivery for school commemorative events.
- Adhere strictly to publication timelines and deadlines, as these publications are aligned with key school events and programmes. Delays may disrupt schools lesson plans and programme schedules.
2. Coordinating with the Ministry, Partners, Vendors & Schools
- Liaise with the Ministry for content approvals and revisions.
- Coordinate with partners for content development and approvals.
- Oversee communication with vendors, including content developers, illustrators, designers, proofreaders, printers, and delivery companies.
- Handle school queries such as additional copy requests and delivery updates.
- Manage printing and delivery logistics, ensuring timelines are met.
3. Managing Kindsville Animation Episodes
- Work with appointed animation vendor to develop and produce new episodes according to production schedule.
- Review scripts and production materials and provide feedback through the developmental process.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion for launch on website.
4. Replying Children's Letters
- Manage and respond to letters written in, ensuring timely, thoughtful and age-appropriate replies.
- Prepare responses that reinforce kindness, graciousness and positive values among children.
5. Managing Digital Content and Website Management
- Ensure the latest publication issue and animation episode is uploaded to the education website for teachers access.
- Develop, adapt and prepare digital resources for educators, including classroom activities and supporting materials.
- Manage and update website content, including coordinating with relevant internal teams and external parties where required.
- Participate in meetings and discussions relating to the merger and redevelopment of the Kindsville website, and follow up on actions, content requirements and timelines to support a smooth transition.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on website-related matters and proactively follow up to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
- Support the wider Education Team in developing and adapting programme content into practical digital resources for teachers and students.
6. Handling Administrative & Finance Tasks
- Process invoices and track expenses.
- Maintain proper records of all production files, approvals, and payments.

- Strong project and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, editorial and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Interest in children's educational content, with an understanding of storytelling, age-appropriate activities and values-driven messaging.
- Strong stakeholder coordination, documentation and organisational skills.
- Good judgement and the ability to work independently, identify issues and propose solutions.
- Adaptability in managing changing priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the wider team and take on new responsibilities where required.
- Proactive communication, particularly when facing challenges, competing priorities or potential delays.
Your Experience and Skills
- Diploma or degree in Communications, Publishing, Education, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in publishing, editorial, communications, project management or a related field.
- Experience managing publications or projects from planning to completion.
- Experience working with designers, printers and external vendors will be an advantage.
- Experience in education, children's or youth content will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with TenderBoard and procurement processes will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva, with an eye for visual layout and design, will be an advantage.
The Opportunity
- Commitment: 6 months, first week of November 2026 to last week of April 2027
- Location: SKM Office / Hybrid
- Weekends: Occasional, depending on project requirements and deadlines
This is a maternity cover position for the duration of the staff member's maternity leave.
The successful candidate should be able to quickly understand existing workflows, take ownership of ongoing projects and provide continuity for the team. A structured handover will be provided at the start of the appointment.
The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive. The successful candidate may be required to undertake other duties reasonably related to the role and support the operational needs and priorities of the Education Team.
