We are looking for a hands-on Project/Service Engineer to manage the installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of engineering equipment/systems at client sites. The role combines project execution with after-sales technical support, ensuring projects are delivered on time and equipment performs reliably in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects from kick-off to handover, including installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment/systems.
- Prepare project schedules, resource plans, and progress reports track milestones against timelines and budget.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal design/procurement teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility assessments, and technical risk evaluations.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Singapore safety standards (WSH regulations), codes of practice, and client specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation, as-built drawings, and project handover reports.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services for installed equipment/systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to service schedules/contracts.
- Diagnose faults, recommend corrective actions, and carry out repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain service records, spare parts inventory, and equipment history logs.
- Respond to client service requests and emergency breakdown calls within agreed SLAs.
- Provide technical training/guidance to clients and junior engineers/technicians on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Support the sales/business development team with technical input for proposals, quotations, and client presentations.
- Identify opportunities for service contract renewals, upgrades, or spare parts sales during site visits.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE uphold safety and quality standards on all job sites.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior engineers or OEM/principal suppliers as needed.
Key Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in project execution, field service, or technical support within the engineering/industrial sector.
- Experience with installation, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial equipment, HVAC, power systems, automation, or process equipment (adjust based on company's product line).
- Prior experience working directly with clients on-site is preferred.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Working knowledge of relevant Singapore standards/regulations (WSH Act, SS/CP codes, as applicable).
- Proficiency in MS Office/MS Project familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects/service calls, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to client sites across Singapore (own transport/valid driving license is an advantage).
- Willingness to be on standby/on-call for emergency service support, as required.
Certifications (Preferred, not mandatory)
- WSQ certifications, WSH Coordinator/Officer certification.
- Relevant OEM/product certifications (e.g., specific equipment brands, PLC/automation systems).
