Project Manager - Marine Industry

Location: Singapore

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage marine projects from initial planning through to successful completion. The role will involve coordinating with clients, shipowners, shipyards, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal technical teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience within the marine, shipbuilding, offshore, marine engineering, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage marine projects from project kick-off through completion and handover.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, manpower, materials, and deliverables.
  • Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, documentation, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement, equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, testing, and project handover where applicable.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution.
  • Identify potential project risks, delays, technical issues, and commercial concerns, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
  • Manage variations, change orders, and additional scope of work.
  • Work closely with engineering, service, sales, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable marine regulations, classification requirements, HSE standards, and company procedures.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues during project execution.
  • Ensure all project documentation, reports, certificates, and handover documents are completed accurately.
  • Conduct project reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience within the marine, offshore, shipyard, or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of marine equipment, systems, engineering, or vessel operations.
  • Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and project activities simultaneously.
  • Strong project planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and contractual requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to shipyards, vessels, offshore locations, or customer sites when required.
