Role description
Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in overseeing the lifecycle of BIOS program management, ensuring effective collaboration among cross-functional teams, and driving performance optimization. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in BIOS and embedded systems, along with strong project management skills to facilitate the successful execution of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership & Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of BIOS program management, including planning, installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of BIOS firmware and software systems.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and test the BIOS application performance for potential bottlenecks, system failures, and security vulnerabilities. Collaborate with developers to identify solutions and ensure optimal functionality.
- Cross-functional Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams of software systems engineers, firmware engineers, and internal/external development partners throughout the entire BIOS lifecycle — including design, architecture, coding, testing, validation, and integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure efficient collaboration on BIOS design, development, and implementation.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Review and evaluate BIOS designs and project activities to ensure compliance with system design standards and internal policies. Provide actionable feedback to improve product quality and reduce failure risks.
- Technical Expertise: Offer domain-specific expertise in BIOS and embedded systems, guiding the design and integration of BIOS firmware and platform solutions into the broader system architecture.
- Innovation & Technology Integration: Lead the integration of emerging BIOS technologies and firmware enhancements into product designs to drive innovation and improve performance across multiple platforms.
- Mentorship & Development: Mentor junior staff members and foster a culture of learning and growth within the BIOS engineering team, ensuring skills development in firmware and systems-level design.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Technical Expertise in BIOS/Embedded Systems: Deep understanding of BIOS, firmware, and low-level embedded systems software design, development, and troubleshooting.
- Software & Firmware Development: Strong experience in firmware engineering, BIOS systems architecture, and embedded software development. Familiarity with tools, languages, and environments used in BIOS development (e.g., C, C++, assembly, and hardware interfaces).
- Cross-platform Integration: Expertise in integrating BIOS and firmware across various platforms and hardware architectures (e.g., x86, ARM, etc.), with a focus on system-level integration and performance.
- System Architecture: Proven experience in overall system architecture, including software systems for embedded products, middleware, and firmware solutions.
- Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Ability to identify system-level issues, perform root cause analysis, and design solutions for complex problems within BIOS and firmware environments.
- Testing & Validation: Strong experience in the design, implementation, and execution of testing frameworks for BIOS, including debugging, test plans, and tools.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to senior management and negotiate design solutions at a strategic level.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business requirements and aligning product development with organizational goals, ensuring that BIOS projects contribute to overall product success.
Qualifications:
Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. A strong foundation in project management principles and methodologies is essential for success in this role.
