General Summary
- Interact with Engineering Directors overseeing test platform development programs to understand their requirements and manage programs accordingly.
- Work with Lead Engineers managing test platform development activities and Chipset Program Managers for supported programs to establish program and product requirements based on program objectives.
- Work directly with Lead Engineers to understand/interpret requirements and develop corresponding program plans and schedules.. Interface with Chipset Program Managers to gain additional understanding of unique customer requirements and product demand quantities.
- Develop and provide Hardware Plans defining hardware platforms available to or to be supplied to chipset programs.
- Working with Operations to develop supply chain strategy, hardware builds, and distribution plans.
- Manage Test Platform programs per objectives and schedules to achieve development and delivery of products meeting the established requirements and adjust as dictated by changes in the program or the hardware platform or both.
- Manage and update program schedules and be able to explain schedule deviations created by program changes.
- Manage product demands and work with Engineering, Operations, and other groups to make appropriate adjustments.
- Prepare and present program status updates and other information to upper management and other groups through various reviews and presentations.
- Track staffing requirements for individual programs and provide updates to department senior management to aid in their efforts to balance and manage department staff between and within the various programs.
- Coordinate various activities with engineering, finance, product management, manufacturing, test engineering, configuration management and/or other internal groups as required.
- Manage multiple programs and/or multiple program hardware platform development activities simultaneously.
- May be required to interface directly with internal customers or suppliers and/or provide direction/support/guidance to others within the department.
- Other program responsibilities may include working with ODMs for the development of platforms in support of various Chipset programs.
Skills/Experience
- Two years of Program Management or Engineering Project Management is preferred.
- Experience in all phases of a hardware product development lifecycle from conception to production.
- Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to mentor and motivate cross-functional project teams.
- Must be able to articulate vision and influence decision making and outcomes both internally and with external customers.
- Able to develop and maintain schedules and program staffing profiles. Computer proficient and fluent in MS Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
Responsibilities
- Management of Test Platform product development and production activities to meet Chipset Program objectives.
- Experience and working level knowledge of Mobile, Computer and XR products is a major asset.
- Experience working with an ODM is also positive.
Education Requirements
- Bachelors in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering coupled with relevant industry experience required.
- Masters in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
