Job Description:
The Product Owner will be the Lead PO for Distribution Portfolio responsible for defining and delivering against the digital product vision. They are the voice of the distribution, client, stakeholder, and end user in product development decisions, aligning feature and product requests with business value. The person in this role will lead multi-disciplined teams to iteratively develop and deploy the solution to realize maximum distribution and client benefits.
Product Vision and Planning
- Set ambitious and clear product vision and strategy together with Distribution Business Owner through a deep understanding of the true problem statement / opportunity the product will address
- Lead a team to conduct detailed analysis of the current journeys, business process, and solution architecture to understand existing impediments to delivering against the vision and draw on user insights, research, competitor analysis, and design thinking to develop the product vision and value proposition
Product Roadmap and Execution
- Partner with business and IT to create and maintain a product roadmap to guide end-to-end execution from inception to production.
- Work between distribution business users and IT, prioritize product features and enhancements based on technical feasibility, business justifications.
- Ensure high quality of delivery and mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor and analyze user satisfaction, usage and conversion, use the data to inform product decisions and optimizations and continuously iterate and improve the product.
- Lead team/squad in executing against product roadmap such that the product vision and associated business benefits are delivered on time and per expectation, whilst conforming to all required internal governance processes.
- Be accountable for product specific OKRs and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Clearly communicate the product proposition, vision, strategy, and benefits realization plan to a broad spectrum of market and regional stakeholders to gain buy-in and necessary approvals
- Partner with wide range of stakeholders including IT, business, vendors, and senior market sponsors to execute against the product vision and realize benefits/business value
Culture and Process
- Deploy Agile delivery principles, where appropriate, to increase speed to market and enhance end user benefits.
- Be a champion of user experience and define and execute user stories that ensure superior customer experience (both internal and external) when using feature/product.
- Drive and own backlog management prioritize backlog of competing requests by evaluating business value and ROI for each request
Qualifications
- Bachelor/ Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related fields
- 8+ years of experience in leading teams as Business, Functional, and Digital SME in Insurance or Financial Services preferred
- Previous experience in business analysis in technology functions is preferred
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, large strategic/complex programs is preferred
- Strong experience in Product Development, Management and Lifecycle
- Relentless focus on outcomes with past experience of solution delivery preferred
- Ability to resolve ambiguity and manage conflicting needs from multiple stakeholders while working within the constraints of a complex technical and operational environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and inter-personnel skills
- Ability to engage effectively with business and technical teams
