  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Process R&D Engineers and pilot line personnel; build a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Provide clear mission, vision, and strategic direction for electrolytic plating R&D, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer requirements, and longterm technology strategy.
  • Conduct performance management, resource allocation, hiring, and capability development to strengthen team effectiveness.

Strategic Planning & Budget Ownership

  • Own and manage the departmental budget, including operating expenses, project spending, and longterm resource planning.
  • Lead capital project planning and execution, including justification, supplier engagement, installation, qualification, and budget tracking.
  • Prioritize R&D initiatives and pilot line investments to maximize value creation, operational efficiency, and technology differentiation.

Technology Development & Innovation

  • Partner with new product development teams to accelerate new product launches, codevelop validation strategies, and deliver scalable electrolytic plating processes that unlock the full value of emerging technologies.
  • Define and drive the electrolytic plating technology roadmap by evaluating new materials, process chemistries, equipment platforms, and manufacturing methods.
  • Oversee development of methodologies that improve pilot line capability, throughput, quality, and speed of learning.

Pilot Line Operations & Technical Governance

  • Oversee daily operations of the electrolytic plating pilot line, ensuring safe, efficient, and highquality execution of test runs, metrology operations, and analytical evaluations.
  • Direct the execution of chemical blending, inventory control, plating tests, inspections, and data analysis.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance, calibration, and operational readiness of all pilot line equipment, with timely escalation of issues.

Cross-Functional & Customer Collaboration

  • Provide technical leadership to Application Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain during product evaluations, customer builds, and technology transfers.
  • Support onsite customer engagements, including troubleshooting, joint development activities, and technical reviews.
  • Represent the R&D function in crossfunctional reviews, leadership forums, and strategic planning discussions.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven peopleleadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and capability development.
  • Strong customercentric mindset with the ability to anticipate and respond to customer needs.
  • Expertise in DOE, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and structured problemsolving methodologies. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or Minitab. Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to align crossfunctional teams and influence without authority.
  • Strong execution discipline combined with strategic thinking for longterm technology planning.
