Principal Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS and a strong hands-on software development background. This role combines cloud architecture with active engineering, requiring the ability to design, build, and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions.

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, delivery-focused professional who can translate architectural designs into production-ready systems while actively contributing to development. They should possess a strong balance of technical leadership and hands-on coding skills, driving best practices, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality cloud solutions.

Your role

Key responsibilities in your new role:

• Define and own end-to-end cloud architecture for large-scale distributed systems on AWS.
• Design microservices-based architectures, API-driven platforms, and event-driven systems.
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency requirements.
• Establish reference architectures, design patterns, and best practices.
• Contribute to end-to-end development and delivery of solutions Hands-on Development
• Actively develop backend services using Node.js - Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using TDD practices - Perform code reviews and guide teams on best practices
  
  

Your profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• 10-15+ years of software engineering experience, including 6-10+ years of hands-on AWS architecture and development expertise.
• Strong experience in AWS, Node.js, Microservices, REST APIs, Distributed Systems, Cloud-Native Architectures, and Event-Driven Design.
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, highly available, and enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs on AWS.
• Architect and optimize distributed systems using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, EKS, ECR, IoT Core, CloudWatch, and Bedrock.
• Build API-first and microservices-based platforms with a focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Contribute extensively to hands-on development (60-70%) while providing architecture, design, and technical leadership (30-40%).
• Drive engineering excellence through TDD, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
• Establish architecture standards, reusable design patterns, governance frameworks, monitoring strategies, and cloud cost optimization practices.
• Implement secure cloud solutions using IAM, encryption, compliance controls, network security, and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes/EKS, containerization, observability, monitoring, and DevOps integration.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, architecture, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance on AWS, cloud-native development, microservices, and distributed system architecture.
• Experience with IoT platforms, connected devices, AWS Bedrock, Generative AI/LLM applications, and performance optimization is highly desirable.
• Strong hands-on engineer with a solution-oriented mindset, capable of seamlessly transitioning between architecture, development, and deployment.
• Passionate about building production-grade cloud platforms and driving successful solution delivery as a Principal Engineer-level individual contributor.
