Principal Analog Design Engineer
Position Overview
ADI Taipei Design Center is seeking an experienced Principal Analog IC Design Engineer with deep expertise in powermanagement analog design to develop nextgeneration PMICs for portable consumer applications. The role includes direct engagement with customers and opportunities for supervisory and mentoring responsibilities. This position is part of the Consumer Business Unit.
Tasks & Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Definition and architecture development of high-performance mixed signal devices.
- IC block design, transistor-level circuit design and simulation.
- Conducting technical presentations to ADI's internal engineering team and customers.
- Using recommended design and verification techniques, tools & flows to produce efficient designs which meet all specified functional, power and timing objectives.
- Successful integration of blocks into larger mixed-signal systems.
- Supporting other job functions such as layout, lab evaluation and test to ensure successful delivery meeting all requirements.
- Continuing to improve analog design methodologies consistent with the group's wider business objectives to reduce time and cost to market.
Power Design Responsibilities (Core Focus):
- Architect, design, and validate highperformance powermanagement circuits, including:
- Switching regulators (buck/boost, multimode/multiphase, highefficiency converters)
- Lowdropout regulators (LDOs) for lownoise and highPSRR applications
- Charge pumps and related switchedcapacitor converter architectures
- Develop closedloop control architectures, including compensation strategies, loopstability optimization, and transientresponse enhancement.
- Drive innovation in ultralowpower, fasttransient, and highefficiency power designs tailored to demanding portable consumer applications.
- Collaborate closely with system architects to define endtoend power architectures and ensure seamless integration into complex mixedsignal SoCs.
- Lead power block bringup, silicon debug, and optimization to achieve bestinclass performance across process, voltage, and temperature variations.
Qualifications & Skills
- MSEE or Ph.D EE degree with minimum 10 years experience as an analog/mixed signal IC designer
- Deep and demonstrable expertise in powermanagement circuit design, including switching regulators, LDOs, charge pumps, and associated controlloop architectures (required core competency, not optional).
- Design experience with circuits such as amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, etc., is an advantage.
- Strong people leadership, inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills are required to work well within a multi-site cross functional team.
- The successful candidate will be expected to take a full cell or system ownership role and contribute to the development of new products from architecture selection to implementation and debug.
- Experience integrating powermanagement and analog blocks into complex SoCs or microcontroller systems is a strong advantage.
- Some limited travel should be expected.
