Postdoctoral Researcher
Note: This role involves survival surgeries, collection of in vivo samples, and other animal experiments that require the sacrifice of laboratory animals.

- Work Content Using the mouse primary sensory cortex as a model, the researcher will assist in exploring the plasticity of cortical neural circuits, as well as the impact and pathogenic mechanisms of sensory cortical dysfunction in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Research Tools: Two-photon microscopy, functional calcium imaging in awake mice, animal behavioral training, mouse genetics, spatial gene expression, and immunostaining.
- Responsibilities & Training: Independently design and conduct experiments.
- Technical Training: Mouse handling/surgery, image data analysis, fluorescent RNA in situ hybridization (FISH), and mouse behavioral assays.
- Professional Activities:
- Participate in routine lab progress reports and literature reviews.
- Mentor junior lab members.
- Encouraged to participate in internal (at academia sinica) and external symposia, for poster or oral presentations.
- Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D. in Biology, Medicine, Neuroscience, or related fields.
- Experience: Open to all experience levels (fresh Ph.D. holders are welcome).
- Requirements:
- Strong interest in research, diligent, detail-oriented, responsible, and a team player.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strongly suggested: Hands-on experience in mouse physiology or molecular biology experiments.
- Preferred Skills: Experience in one or more of the following: molecular biology techniques, in vivo imaging, microscopic image acquisition, or programming/analysis (Matlab or Python).
Preference will be given to candidates offering longer-term commitment to project completion.

- Treatment In accordance with the institute's standard starting salary structure (NT$64,711 per month for Ph.D. holders), additional salary may be granted based on eligible work experience. This position is governed by the Labor Standards Act.
