Postdoctoral Research Scientist

The Yueh Cho Lab at the Bachelor Program of Biotechnology and Food Nutrition (international program) and the Institute of Biotechnology, National Taiwan University, opened in July 2026. We study how cells maintain protein homeostasis under environmental stress, including how ribosome collisions are sensed and resolved, how ER stress is signaled, and how membrane lipids shape organelle proteostasis. We work with Arabidopsis thaliana and the red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae, combining polysome and disome profiling, phosphoproteomics, and CRISPR genome editing. With our first NSTC grant awarded, we are recruiting one postdoctoral researcher.

Job Description

• Carry out the NSTC project Dissecting translational control in the ER stress-response mechanism of Arabidopsis thaliana (NSTC 115-2311-B-002-024-MY3), testing how AGB1 slows translation under stress through RACK1A Ser159 phosphorylation
• Establish and lead method platforms for disome-seq, cross-linking MS and collision interactome analysis, PRM quantification of RACK1A phosphorylation, and in vitro kinase assays
• Help mentor MSc and undergraduate students, analyze data, write papers, and present at international conferences

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree (candidates who have passed their defense are welcome) and at least one published first-author or corresponding-author paper within the past five years (extended by two years per childbirth)
• Good spoken and written English
• Experience in polysome profiling, Ribo-seq or disome-seq, (phospho)proteomics, protein biochemistry, or sequencing data analysis in R or Python is preferred

Salary and Benefits:

NTU Postdoctoral Researcher Salary Scale, starting at NTD 65,006 per month (Level 1); insurance and pension follow NTU regulations. Foreign nationals who are appointed may receive a one-time, one-way airfare to Taiwan.

Start Date:

Upon approval by the NTU Office of Research and Development (expected in the first half of 2027). One-year appointment, renewable based on performance.

本實驗室為國立臺灣大學生物科技與食品營養學士學位學程(國際學程)/生物科技研究所卓岳老師研究室,2026 年 7 月成立,研究細胞在環境逆境下如何維持蛋白質恆定,包括核糖體碰撞如何被偵測與排除、內質網壓力訊號,以及膜脂如何影響胞器的蛋白質恆定。我們以阿拉伯芥與嗜熱嗜酸紅藻 Cyanidioschyzon merolae 為模式,結合 polysome/disome profiling、磷酸化蛋白質體與CRISPR 基因編輯。實驗室第一個國科會計畫已核定,現誠徵博士後研究員一名。

工作內容

1. 執行國科會新進人員研究計畫「阿拉伯芥內質網壓力反應機制中之轉譯調控解析」(NSTC 115-2311-B-002-024-MY3),探討AGB1 如何透過 RACK1A Ser159 磷酸化,讓植物在逆境下減緩轉譯。
2. 建立並主責 disome-seq、交聯質譜與碰撞核糖體交互作用體、RACK1A 磷酸化 PRM 定量及體外激酶分析等方法平台。
3. 協助指導碩士生與專題生,分析數據、撰寫論文,並於國際會議發表成果。

資格條件

1. 具博士學位(已通過口試者亦可),且近五年內至少有一篇已發表的第一作者或通訊作者論文(因生育者每胎得延長 2 年)。
2. 能以英文溝通與撰寫論文。
3. 具 polysome profiling、Ribo-seq 或 disome-seq、(磷酸化)蛋白質體質譜、蛋白質生化,或以 R/Python 分析定序資料經驗者優先。

薪資福利:依「國立臺灣大學博士後研究人員薪級表」核敘,第一級月支新臺幣 65,006 元;勞健保與勞退依本校規定辦理。外國籍人士獲聘者,得補助來臺單程機票一次。
