The Chung Group of Exposomics () is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate who is highly interested in computational exposomics and environmental health. The upcoming projects will leverage biological samples from epidemiological cohorts and clinical trials related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The primary focus of the projects is to decode the complex relationships between the exposome, the genome, and other omics layers.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, or related disciplines (ii) demonstrated experience in analysing multi-omics data from human samples, such as genetics, proteomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, and exposomics (iii) strong interest in leveraging cutting-edge computational and data science methods to identify causal and diagnostic factors of NCDs (iv) effective communication, organisational, and time management skills (v) excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (vi) proficiency in R computation. Experience in working with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters would be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) performing computational exposomics analyses, including basic exposome-wide association study (ExWAS) approach and advanced mixture, multi-omics, and machine learning methods, e.g., LASSO, polyexposure score (PXS), network analysis, polygenic risk score (PRS) (b) collaborating closely with the team and external investigators on projects that fulfill the exposome vision of the group. (c) conducting literature reviews to support research objectives (d) maintaining routine communication and effective reporting of research progress to the team leader (e) leading the development of and producing high-quality research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles and presentations for both academic and non-academic audiences and (f) providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members and capstone students.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.
