Job Description

For Postdoctoral Fellow, applicants should have (i) a PhD/EdD (ii) proficiency in English and Chinese (iii) competence in analysing quantitative and/or qualitative data (iv) the ability to work independently and as a team (v) knowledge about the fields of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English teaching and (vi) experience in academic publications and/or report writing in the relevant fields.

For Research Assistant, applicants should have (i) at least a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, English Education or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (ii) proficiency in English and Chinese (iii) experience in analysing quantitative and/or qualitative data (iv) the ability to work independently and as a team and (v) at least two years of relevant experience. Experience in report writing and publications in the relevant fields is preferred.

Duties include (a) providing clerical and secretarial support to the project when necessary (b) reviewing literature in relevant research areas, e.g., primary English language teaching, reading, writing, self-regulated learning, e-Learning, 21st century skills, etc. (c) analysing collected data (d) drafting research manuscripts and statistical reports and (e) performing duties related to the project as instructed by the Project Leader.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
